Early Years - Parent Partnership

"Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and carers." (Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum 2012)

At Sherborne House School, we firmly believe in the importance of an environment where the whole family is welcomed into the school community, and as such are encouraged to be involved in the life of Sherborne House School.

Throughout your child’s time within Pre-Reception and Reception we work very closely with parents in order to ensure each individual child’s needs are met. We firmly believe and value that parents are a child’s first and most enduring   educator.   A   successful   relationship between home and school will have a hugely beneficial effect upon a child’s learning and wellbeing. As an effective relationship comes from a two-way communication, we very much welcome your views as parents.

Parents are encouraged to contribute to their child’s learning journey which we develop using ‘Tapestry’, a secure online record system.

We hold termly parent consultations to discuss your child’s progress and their next steps.

We are always happy to see parents at arrival or collection times. For longer consultations please use the Pre-Reception number 023 8024 0966 or 023 8025 2440 for Reception, to arrange an appointment.
