Year 4 Trip to Little Canada

This week our Year 4 children headed to the Isle of Wight for 3 days. After a smooth crossing the children arrived at Little Canada where they enjoyed their packed lunches. After unpacking and making their own beds in the cabins, the children headed off for a fun-filled afternoon of activity. The children were split into groups and took turns taking part in ‘Survivor’. This activity involved learning how to make shelters, filtering water and making fire, ‘problem solving’, (which involved working as a team to beat the tasks set by the PGL staff) and outside climbing which meant some of the children had to face their fear of heights, while others learnt the skill of belaying. After a delicious dinner, the children had an opportunity to explore the PGL site to find flags from different countries. On Thursday the children and staff spent the day rock pooling where they found crabs, sea snails and different types of seaweed, before showing off their dance moves at a disco in the evening. On Friday, after a very energetic aeroball tournament the children enjoyed their last meal at Little Canada before heading home on the ferry.
