Welcome from the Head Teacher

I would like to extend a personal welcome to you from all the staff at Sherborne House School.

Sherborne House aspires to provide a well-balanced and wide-ranging education within a happy and stimulating atmosphere. Every child, and each of their achievements, is valued be it academic, sporting, musical, artistic, or creative.

Our children are encouraged to relish and explore every opportunity, and to fully extend their individual talents and interests. We wish to nurture independence and self-confidence, combined with tolerance of the needs, beliefs and attitudes of others.

I have enjoyed a long and very happy relationship with Sherborne House, firstly as a parent when my elder daughter joined the EYFS Centre in September 1989, and very shortly after as a teacher, when I became a member of staff in November 1989. I continued to combine both roles for many years with my second daughter joining the Sherborne House Pre-Reception class in 1996. I have since taught a wide variety of both subjects and years throughout the Prep School, being a Form Tutor for Years 4, 5 and 6. In 2003, I became the Director of Studies, with responsibility for curriculum development and assessment and Phase Leader for Years 5 and 6, taking up a position within the Senior Management Team. This role afforded me the opportunity to work closely with children, parents and staff, to develop contacts with local Senior Schools and outside agencies, and to deputise for the previous Headmistress. I am now pleased to use this experience and knowledge in my role as Head of Sherborne House School, a position which I have held since 2007.

I hope that you will find our website useful in providing you with information about our school, but should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our School Administrator, Mrs Estelle Szasz, on 023 8025 2440 or email info@sherbornehouse.co.uk. However, there is no substitute for coming to see the school personally, and I hope to welcome you to Sherborne House in the very near future.
