Welcome
to Sherborne
At Sherborne House, we believe that the strengths of a school lie firmly in its commitment to viewing each child as an individual and to getting to know each individual very well. We pride ourselves in getting to know each family and working in partnership to maximise outcomes for every child.
Therefore, at Sherborne House we provide an environment where every child’s talents, interests and passions are nurtured and developed. Inspired teaching, coupled with a talented and dedicated staff, ensure that we deliver a broad, dynamic and innovative curriculum.
We make sure that each child has the advantage of a broad and challenging academic offer and that our strong academic results speak for themselves. Our children consistently perform above national and local averages at every stage of their education.
Furthermore we have an excellent reputation for gaining significant numbers of scholarships for entry to senior schools at 11+ across a range of disciplines. The school has strong, long-standing relationships with the senior schools in the area and Sherborne House children are always commended for their determination, confidence and love of learning.
Despite preparing our children well for the next stage in their educational journey, we also boast a broad enrichment curriculum; ensuring opportunities outside the classroom are maximised. This is most evident in the pride each child takes in responsibilities afforded to them through the many roles available to them within the school community.

A vivid memory from my years at SH, 1990-1998 was creating the Time Capsule and burying it in the foundations of what was the new building next to the main house. We were performing Alice and Wonderland at the time and put a cassette recording in! Wonderful memories and friends made for life 💙
I have many happy memories of Sherborne House School when Miss Wise was headmistress. I started in Miss Bowes class in kindergarten in 1970 & left in 1975. I still have some of my projects including a footstool ! I made in Form IV Mrs Poole was my teacher that year.
I joined Sherborne House in 1980 when I was 4yrs old all the way through until 11yrs. I remember they had a beautiful wooden rocking horse in the Yr R classroom which was a favourite for lots of children. I also fondly remember the amazing chocolate mousse at lunch time! My two children attended SH Nursery many years ago. I’m lucky enough to still visit SH in my capacity as a Professional Nanny and have had a number of children in my care attend SH including my current family. Being at SH now brings back lots of memories when I look at the original buildings.
I'm from 1984 alumni and will be meeting up with other Sherborne House alumni for lunch next month! Will be sure to take a photo 📷
