On Wednesday 26th June, Sherborne House held its annual Sports Day, a cherished event in our summer term calendar. This day provided a fantastic opportunity for all pupils to showcase their athletic skills and to participate in a variety of races and events.
In the morning, little ones from Nursery took part in lots of fun activities, which were led by our Year 5 pupils.
At midday, we welcomed parents and caregivers from the main school to join their children for a picnic lunch on the front lawn before the afternoon of events began. With sprint finals, hurdles, obstacles and so on, it was a fantastic afternoon of competition in our houses: Oaks, Pines and Beeches. The entire school community came together to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun.
We extend our gratitude to the parent committee, Friends of Sherborne House (FOSH), whose unwavering support and enthusiasm contributed to the success of the day. Their dedication and effort in organising refreshments and other logistics made the event enjoyable for everyone involved.
A special thank you goes to Mrs Whytehead, whose impeccable organisation and leadership ensured the smooth running of Sports Day, supported by the sports department. Mrs Whytehead has been the driving force behind this event for the past 18 years, and her commitment to making Sports Day a highlight of the school year has been truly brilliant.
As Mrs Whytehead prepares to retire at the end of this academic year, we want to acknowledge her outstanding contributions and express our deep appreciation for her hard work and dedication to Sherborne House School. Her impact on Sports Day and the school community will be remembered fondly for years to come. We wish Mrs Whytehead a fulfilling and joyous retirement, filled with new adventures and happiness.
