Early Years Department

The Early Years Department age 3 - 5

Welcome to Early Years at Sherborne House School.  We recognise and value that your child arrives with their own unique combination of skills, experiences and values and at Sherborne House we seek to build on these, working in close partnership with parents, to ensure that all our children’s needs are met and that they become active, enthusiastic and independent learners.

Sherborne House School Early Years’ Department aims to provide a consistently high standard of education and care. We provide a secure, caring and inspiring environment where children are helped to develop as individuals. Each child is encouraged to have a positive self-image, alongside the ability to communicate happily and confidently, whilst developing positive relationships with children and adults.
"Every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured." (Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum 2012)
Our website outlines the purposes, nature and management of the Early Years’ education at Sherborne House School. The term ‘Early Years’ is used to describe children in our Pre-Reception and Reception classes aged from rising 3 to 5 years.
