Year 6 to Tipi World

On Monday 22nd May 2017 all the children in Year 6 gathered for their residential trip to Acorn Safari Park Adventure. A week of camping in five tipis awaited the children and all the staff accompanying had every finger and every toe crossed for good weather. Whatever we did as staff worked as we were blessed with a wonderful week of sunny weather which certainly contributed to all the activities the children took part in. The highlight for the children was the chance to visit the West Midlands Safari Park, next door, feeding animals (I didn’t realise giraffe’s tongues were so rough), going on rides and being able to purchase ice creams kept the children amused all day. Throughout the week the children worked together on a wide range of activities, excelling as groups when constructing bush shelters and real camp fires. Whilst the children were kept busy they fuelled up on a wide variety of food from croissants and cereal for breakfast and corn beef hash and pasta with meatballs for supper, many seconds were had all around.  The children returned to school on Friday exhausted, but with a whole range of memories to share with their parents.
